Ruby Hennessy-Grant, Stop The Steal, Seoul, 2025 (DOCO 2026)

In January 2025, following the impeachment of South Korea’s former president Yoon Suk Yeol, pro-Yoon demonstrators gathered in central Seoul under the banner of “Stop the Steal.” Protesters opposed the impeachment and subsequent legal proceedings, rejecting their legitimacy while adopting slogans and symbols drawn from U.S. political movements. This series documents how global political language and local unrest converged in public space during a moment of national upheaval.
